world, Monopoly, was created by Charles B. Darrow in 1934 using

Atlantic City Historical Fact: The first recorded owner of the
area that became Atlantic City was Thomas Budd, an Englishman, who
arrived in the late 1670's. Budd was given the property as a settlement
and was then valued at $ 0.40 an acre, while the beach land a mere
$ 0.04 an acre. Today, that same real estate is worth billions.
